Marlene Rodriquez is a very special person. A combat veteran with three tours of Iraq to her name, the Purple Heart recipient survived a firefight and two IED hits, before being forced to retire from the Army in 2009 due to traumatic brain injury.

She’s also a Dwayne Johnson fan, so the man himself decided to surprise her with a special gift: the 2018 Ford Mustang, which has only just been revealed.

She insisted she didn’t deserve it, to which Johnson replied: “You deserve more”.

Right in the feels.

I just can’t handle with these depressed headlights. What have you done Ford?
I mean, I’m getting over it, I’m a huge Ford fan, but still.

The feelings train got me here.

But the 1965 had depressed headlights, so wouldn’t it make sense to bring that back now that they’re back to making it look as close to that as it ever has? (With regards to grille/headlight shape and overall outline, that is)

To the people who don’t like the mustang, it’s not a terrible car just because of its headlights. It can still make people happy, just like this video shows.

Really man? Was that necessary? No. Take your mMustang jokes somewhere else. The joke is dead. Move on.

Yes!
Most companies in this case would give the sh!ttiest spec car they have, possibly not even quite new, after it was used as a demo or something
Well done, Ford

I’ve decided to dub the color of orange, (which is currently the only color ive seen it shown in) “Grand Tour Orange”. Somebody get me a patent on that.

It’s even a GT model. No Ecoboost 4 banger for this veteran

Well, as nice and heartwarming as it is, it’s still sort of an advertisement.
So that’s (at least) one reason why they picked the top-of-the-range model.
Also, who knows, maybe she configures hers (I don’t think she gets the pp-car they showed) with a small engine.
