Alpine A110 R Turini Arrives As A Cheaper, More Kerb-Friendly Track Car
2024 looks to be an interesting year for Alpine. It’s expected we’ll see the arrival of the A290, a Renault 5-based electric hot hatch as the brand looks to make a full switch to battery power from 2026. It seems there’s still life in the petrol-powered A110, though.
The whole range has had a slight refresh, mostly focusing on pricing and standard equipment rather than any wholesale changes. That said, a new model should make accessing the most hardcore version a little easier.
For £91,490, you can grab the keys to an A110 R Turini. It retains the Rs usual upgrades including its mad aerodynamic kit, 300bhp engine and lightweight carbon fibre body panels, though brings in a new set of 18-inch GT Race aluminium alloys.
Those are key to knocking £5,500 off the regular R and its carbon fibre wheels - albeit the additional (and undisclosed) unsprung mass will have some effect on the driving experience. At least parallel parking will be less nerve-wracking.
There’s a slight bump in price elsewhere in the range, though more kit to compensate. A base-spec A110 (the one you want) will now cost £54,490 - a £2,000 increase - though comes with new 18-inch wheels and uprated 320mm brakes as standard.
An A110 GT rises to £62,490 and the S to £67,490, albeit the latter now gets forged 18-inch Fuchs wheels and black-tinted headlamps.
Orders are being taken now for the refreshed Alpine A110 range. If you’re thinking about it, we’d probably get a shift on - it can’t be too long at this stage before the dinky sports car says a final farewell.
