'91 Swift GTI Fuel Pump Circuit Problem!
I recently bought an old 1.3 DOHC GTI Swift. The previous owner broke one of the cams. After rebuilding the valve train and reassembling I turned it over for the first time! Only to discover there was a vacuum leak somewhere. Before I was able to pinpoint the leak the car starting having more issues idling until it was clear the fuel pump was not functioning.
Following a diagnostic chart to pinpoint issues within the fuel pump circuit. It directed me to use a jumper wire on the fuel pump relay to bypass the relay’s switch. On turning the key to the On position with the jumper wire in place the fuel pump was heard to run. I checked the relay’s resistance and made sure that it was functioning properly when supplied the 12 v to trigger the relays switch. The relay checked out.
The chart indicates that it must be either the terminal b13 on the ECU which is a pink/ white wire 4th terminal from the left on the middle wire pin bundle on the ECU.. I checked the wire and its supplying 11.6 V aproximately.
I’m not sure how to resolve this issue..
