A comparison between the Porsche 911 GT2RS and Lamborghini Huracan Performante on the Nurburgring

By the first corner the two are neck and neck, exiting turn one at 84 km/h (52 mph)

10 seconds in and the two are still pretty close together, the Performante having a slight 3 km/h increase over the GT2.

Still pretty close, but the Porsche is starting to pull, reaching 288 km/h (178 mph) compared to the Huracan’s 269 km/h (166 mph)

Thanks to the Huracan’s AWD, it sticks with the GT2 through the next set of corners, even though the GT2 is going 25 km/h faster (15 mph)

Not even the Huracan’s AWD can handle the 60 HP difference between them. At 3:00 the Porsche is starting to pull away from the Performante

2 seconds behind the Porsche, the Lambo is just now entering Karussel going 4 km/h slower than the Porsche.

Going on to the longest straight, the Porsche is .28 seconds ahead, but going 14 km/h faster (9 mph)

Here are the peak speeds acheived by both cars on the longest straight before the slight bend. As you can see the GT2 is going 14 km/h faster, just like at the start of the straight. The Huracan is starting to close the gap, but isn’t quite enough to cover a 9 second gap in laptime (roughly)

Here is the lap for the Porsche and the Lambo

Kyle Ashdown thoughts? If the Performante was given the same tire compound (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s) would it be almost as fast as the Porsche?

Tough to say. You’ll get more grip but you might sacrifice a bit of straight-line speed.

They’re already pretty close together - less than 10 seconds difference on the Ring means virtually zilch in real life. It would depend on the aerodynamics more than anything - the GT2 RS has more horsepower and is lighter I think, but the Performante has aero vectoring and all-wheel-drive. That means the Lambo has the edge in corner exits and low-speed (<100mph) acceleration, but the GT2 RS has the edge on the longer straights.
