Why can't they continue the "wangan midnight " anime TV-series

This thing has 600+ bhp in the anime series.
As in the manga this car has a engine swap and was tuned by “kitami-jun” also know as “the tuner from hell” . The cars that he tuned happend to dangerous (hard to control) . Because of this situation the customers stop coming for his tuning .
Before he quits this industry the last car he made was the “fairlady Z” also known as the “Devil Z” .
He sold it after he made it . It always got into many many accidents but every time it revived as if it has a soul . The fourth owner is “Akio” who happens to be a high school student who lives on his own. He had a Z31 previously and herd about this Z . The Z by the time was in the scrap yard , he went forward and bought it and fixed it up .
He starts racing on the wangan (a part of a freeway ) with the “Black bird “ which is a Porsche 911 turbo 964 driven by Shima ( a wealthy doctor in the city) , is also the rival of the Devil Z. Then we have the TV host “Reina” who drives a GTR R32 with an RB22DETT (she has a crush on Akio).
They drive in the wangan everyday after work till the dawn , races each other and want to push beyond their speed limit .Sadly this TV-series only has “26” episodes ,the manga is a long story,it’s great but when you watch it you can hear all the sounds from rev matching to backfire ,only then you get that feeling .
Initial D has a better story excitement but I prefer this over initial D .
