CHECK YOUR CAM FOLLOWER!!!

Can’t say it any more, ordered the part on ECS suspecting it needed to be changed (I’ve owned the car for ~10k miles)… I got to the cam follower and it looked like this!!! I’m so surprised it did NO damage to the fuel pump or camshaft… PLEASE, make sure to check your cam follower every 10-20k miles! It will be a life saver (I’m pretty sure the previous owner never changed it)

Should get an oil change to try and remove the metal flakes from the follower

Got an oil change 500 miles ago, I think it should be fine 😬

Also you’ll need to replace the Cam Follower, HPFP, and the intake cam

I replaced the cam follower and checked the conditions of the spring on the high pressure fuel pump and the intake camshaft… no wear at all :o just normal 120k mile wear for an old car
