Not had one, but I’ve heard the following:
Toyosports systems, generally alright for the money but don’t sound much louder than OEM, some issues with fitting from some people.
Toyosports manifolds, poor reviews in terms of fitting, people having issues with fitting on the cat side.
I got an MX5Parts catback used for £110, good condition too. I’d say go on FB MX-5 selling pages, find a used MX5Parts or Cobalt system.
This right here. I wish I had known about FB pages when I got into Miatas. You’ll often find good stuff for decent prices
Cheers, I’m Not looking for a lourd sound, something Nice but sophisticated, any opinion on pipercross air filters ?
Any drop-in filter will be fine, doubt you’ll notice a difference. Just don’t do an open cone above the manifold.
Get a Pipercross Venom and route the intake pipe into the cowl, “Randall Cowl” style. Any kind of decent enclosed filter will work for that, or even with the stock airbox like I have. Sounds awesome too.
Alternatively a cone filter with 180 degree bend routed behind the headlight.
Stock intake system is good though if you don’t fancy an aftermarket intake.
As for exhausts, the MX5Parts exhaust is a bit loud for some! I love it though. Go to a meet and try to get a ride in some with different exhausts.
