6th gen is more reliable, and slow 7th gen is faster. And burns oil
I believe they fixed the oil burning problem in 2003.
6th gen: -more reliable -performace-oriented (GT-Four WRC build for WRC homologation) -more selection options(1.8l 116hp 7A-FE, 2.0l 170/175hp 3S-GE, 2.0l 200hp 3S-GE Beams, 2.0l 242/255hp 3S-GTE, 2.2l 136hp 5S-FE) -more advanced super strut suspension available -rust is the main problem
7th gen: -more fuel-efficient than 6th gen -less options to choose from (1.8l 1ZZ-FE 143hp , 1.8l 2ZZ-GE 192hp) -“looks fast, almost like a ferrari” according to ricers lol -pre-facelift models often burn oil due to shortblock problems
