The good, the bad, and the ugly: Car Throttle edition

Beginning with the good

As it is sort of obvious, it is the original social media for car guys. It is the first ever place where I could express my love for cars (with some drawbacks but I’ll get to that in a minute). Another thing is this is one of 2 places where I (and a lot of people probably) get their motoring news as well.

The bad

As many of you might be finding out, perhaps the number one way to get a decent amount of upvotes is to make a meme. However, original ideas are starting to run out, now it seems like the meme community is just full of built not bought made by people who probably don’t have a driver’s license yet (yes I am one of the people who doesn’t have a license, but I’ll be getting one in about a year or so). Then there are the JDM fanboys, now I like a good JDM car, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t like the fan base that comes with it.

The ugly

Now this is a bit controversial because there are a few who do and a few who don’t. I personally am not a fan because I prefer to have my notifications from different communities rather than just have the news. I hope that in the next website update, they go back to a simplier layout compared to right now

The only post app thing I dislike besides the massive amount of douchebags is the fact that they have a forum for every single car. But when you factor in the 90% of people on this site as not having cars (let alone a license to drive one) it’s kinda just full of the few people asking for advice on that particular car…and getting no response because it’s a site full of children and teens who can’t help beyond a Google search.

The e39 owners club has like 2 active members.

Yeah, I agree with that, but hopefully I get my license in the next couple months

I think they could merge some of those forums into one. For example the Focus forums could be merge into a big Focus forum that would be way more active
