I’ve heard a 90s camaro with the 3.8 v6 with a 3in straight pipe that sounded amazing so it’s possible for a v6 to sound good

It might be raspy if you don’t go to a bigger pipe so I’d go 3in

Note on this one - the 3.4 from the 4th gen Camaro is a pushrod V6 and sounds really good with the right exhaust or straight pipe. The OHC V6 engines in Mustangs tend to sound absolutely horrible straight piped. When my 07 4.0 was it was one of the worst things I had ever heard.

All you have to do is get rid of the v6 and get a v8. WHY WOULD YOU EVER BUY A V6 MUSTANG?

Buy some cheap mufflers. They’ll sound better than straight piping it and if you daily drive it, it’ll be quieter with the mufflers. I know you wanna drift this thing, my suggestion is get a set of 4.10 gears or higher. That’ll give you more lower end acceleration rather than a top end. They’re a couple hundred bucks but well worth it when wanting power in the low end.

The reason i doubt want to blow a lot of money on it is because in the next few years i would like to have a new edge gt or my moms 2011 camaro, thank you so much for the suggestions, you seem to know a lot about cars and i definitely do want to drift it but after all it is a v6 with high mileage and i don’t know if i wavy to spend money on this our save up for a better car. I would like a new edge gt because you can make them sound nice for a low price.

I know i know i had a v8 4.6l and the worst thing was pulling up next to what seemed like a fellow gt and taking off to only hear that v6 rattle its raspy at damn near all rpm personally i would wait to grab some flowmasters off craigslist at least then up until 3k rpm it sounds deep

yeah i do not want to sound like a complete rice rocket. I would rather save money and make it sound good or buy a v8

It's N8 M8

Have you tried to look up videos of it? I looked up videos to get an idea of what to do on an V6 Accord I actually found straight pipe the best.

Yeah, i thought some of them sounded good but others bad. I would rather have it how it is now than have it messed up.

Mustang has such a powerful engine but is not performing as well as a BMW…
