Why on earth would anyone do a TDI swap on an RX8!?

After I saw this one, I absolutally love tye project rx hate and ls swaping the rotaries…
Honda wap would work better than that crappy 1.9 tdi.
1.9tdi is one of the worst engines on earth, it is the definition of german engineering that means crappy engeneering.
I hope that someone will save it and swap something else in it.

And how people could at least try to think good about Polish people if they keep doing such dumb things?
I hate my country :(

Nit really, look at 5.9 cummins or an LS platform. Even the Renault’s F7R is better than this german junk.

I would’ve made it an EV. High revs and great torque figures. But i would do to one with an engine that’s FUBAR.

Japanese: Rotary swap.
American: Ls swap bro
Germany: Why swaping?
Spain: Our SEATs already have wolkswagen engines anyway.

Mr. Pineapple

It’s an interesting build… If he was aiming for reliability and fuel economy he hit bullseye. But I understand your struggle, here in Slovenia people have the same mindset, Hurr-durr 1.9 tdi best in the world, durr. But no matter what you say it’s a good engine.

You just triggered me, litterally. Germans make good cars, my favourite car is German. 1.9 TDI is an economic engine, not like an LS or a Cummins witch drinks fuel and money like crazy.

If you want the power, go for the cummins, but If you want the economy go for 1.5l dci or 2.0l dci
Peugot also has great diesel engines.
TDIs have more problems than just normal common rail engines, so with right service even the 1.9dci from renault laguna can outlive a 1.9 tdi no problem.

Exactly, + this guy could be sent to court for what he did, as he has increased the displacement of the engine without changing it in the papers… That means he still pays super low i surance for a 1.3l engine while driving a 1.9 which would be much highier
