8 Supercars The Audi TT RS Will Match To 62mph

The world’s motoring press let out a collective gasp last week when Audi released its new TT RS. The reason was the performance it’s packing: its 2.5-litre, turbocharged five-cylinder engine is good for a massive 395bhp, making 0-62mph possible in just 3.7 seconds.

It’s that last figure we want to focus on, as it means this jumped-up junior coupe is able to dispatch the benchmark 0-62mph sprint in exactly the same time as some considerably more exotic - and expensive - supercars, including a few from Audi’s own stable:

What’s the point of this speed when you’re limited by the speed of the car you are tailgating

Probably only two real reasons for this.

1) Good 4WD system
2) Weight

Very impressed with the news on this new RS, if only I had the cash.

Yeah sure, only 2 reasons, all you need is a lightweight car and 4WD, the near enough 400bhp engine has no part to play here…

Doesn’t the SLR McLaren 722 have 722 hp?

No, it called 722 cause in the 1955 Moss/Jenkinson car (Mercedes), #722, left Brescia at 07:22.

in other words.. you don’t need to spend a million bucks to have speed

well…If you’re only measuring to 60 yeah! If you want to go over 200mph then you either have to spend a crap ton on a supercar, spend a hell of a lot of money modifying a supra/gtr or buy a nasty ass hellcat.

Another soulless box claiming to be better than the supercars, nothing new, civic has pulled this last year with it’s nurburgring time.
