First! Assess the damage. Is it worth fixing? Do you really need it that bad? Can you fix it? If it’s worth your time, do it. Find a cheap piece of metal. Something you can find that would fit. Trim it in place and make sure it covers the hole and overlaps a bit. Make sure you can attach it.. For my case, the other side was covered with oil. Welding it would have caused a fire. And welding costs more money than pop riveting so….

So here’s the situation: I hacksawed the battered up muffler joiner coupling and bought a general exhaust pipe joiner and bolted it on.. Well it started to leak from the seam where the joiner clamps down in both ends.. So i filled the holes with exhaust paste and heatgunned them dry.. After i started up the car, the exhaust paste just flew off like it was nothing.. Well i reapplied the muffler paste but this time i put the tube right against the hole and squeezed it so it started to splurt out on the sides so i know the hole is now properly filled up..

Okay this is an unique problem.. So the outer pipe needs to be protected and reused so i can’t just hack it off.. The pipe inside needs to be pulled out so i can push the new muffler in the old pipe.. And then there is a random third pipe that i have no idea why it’s there but it needs to be removed too.. Methods tried already: -Heating it red hot and then locking the pipe end with vice grips and bashing the vice grips with a hammer. (The metal only deformed on the vice grip bite.) -Hammering the muffler while the pipe still was attached. -Wd-40

It has come to my attention that some people don’t actually know this. So i posted this pic in case there still are people who don’t know this thing. The axle is attached to the leaf springs which are attached to the car.. If you move the axle under the leaf spring, you can lift your rear end.. some times just to look cool.. But if you wan’t to lower your rear end, all you need to do is just get a block under the axle between the leaf spring and axle.. Some people have even used hockey pucks there..

Engine temp is fine. Heater core got replaced because it was leaking and that now is fine. Oil is good and oil cap has no foam. Engine runs fine and smooth, no power loss at all. Coolant is nice and green. But coolant has a 1cm thick layer of foam on top. Headgasket or something else? If it is headgasket, i’ll just try some stop leak product and pray. If it’s something else then it’s worth a shot trying to fix. What i was thinking was:

I changed my waterpump and i didn’t have a gasket so i had to use permatex ultra black silicone as a gasket. I let it sit for 15 mins and then bolted it on very tight. When is it dried enough so i can fill er up with coolant? It’s probably too wet to run yet.
