Why don't people put the Mustang's ecoboost engine into 240's?
It's a genuinely good idea! More power, same amount of cylinders, you don't have to hunt for parts because it's still new and it still has a turbo!

well, why would people spend money to buy a brand new car, take the engine, and put it to an old car? :(
They’d just drive the mustang ecoboost, anyway hahaha

no no no…you have some poor schmuck to buy one, aquire it yourself by befriending them, then taking it for a drive, alone. “accidentally” total the rear end by backing into a parked Volvo… salvage the engine and roll out. never speak to them again. And viola! A new Ford eco boost engine is now yours.

Well, Ecoboost engines have a cast Iron block, so it may be too heavy, specially in S chassis nissans.

So? The Nissan RB and KA motors, and the Toyota JZ motors also have iron blocks but they are still some of the most popular engines in S chassis cars. Iron block just means you can have more boost, more easily :D

The only ecoboost with an iron block is the 3 cylinder, the Rest is Aluminium

Not that good of an idea. The type of guy to buy a 240 won’t be in the new mustang market. Plus the mustang is just a better platform all around.

Maybe all round, but probably not as light as a S-Chassis.
Besides, there are ways of making chassis stronger..

So you think that the engine, transmission, driveshaft will all just plop in with no modifications and keeping everything cost effective?

Dropping in an SR for us in the USA is a lot cheaper and everything fits with little to no modification. Add a bigger turbo and a good tune and you have just as much horsepower as the Ecoboost while being a hell of a lot cheaper than the ecoboost route.

So good idea but really not

I haven’t seen it in an s chassis, but I’m pretty sure there’s someone that’s done one in an S30. I’m with you though. It would be a solid swap. Ecoboosts are great engines.

Wrong engine, too. I’m talking about the 300 hp Mustang engine.
