Continuing the VW theme, we bring you the 'world's fastest Mk1 Polo.' Powered by a 3.3-litre turbo'd engine, its 1200hp is transferred to the tarmac via all four wheels. Obviously, for a car that originally weighed around 800kg, this Polo turbo is monumentally fast - given just 1/4 of a mile - which it'll happily dispatch in 8.5 seconds - it'll reach speeds in excess of 180mph. Given a long enough runway, it should reach beyond 230mph if its gearing is altered for top speed runs rather than bullet-like blasts. Further mods to this Polo from hell include beefy, near-solid suspension, a wider track, massive tyres and the obligatory roll cage.
