Ubisoft Has Announced That The Crew 2 Is Coming Soon

Following on from 2014’s open-world racing game The Crew, publisher Ubisoft has now announced a sequel – The Crew 2.

We don’t know much about the new game so far, apart from that fact it’s called The Crew 2 and will be released at some point in the next year. Oh, and also the logo.

It was revealed as part of Ubisoft’s 2017 fiscal year earnings report, so we can presume it will be released by the end of the current fiscal year – March 2018.

The game’s official Twitter account then shared the logo and said: “Beyond the road… stay with us for more high-octane thrills.”

With this, we can assume the new game may focus a bit more on off-road driving and racing, in a similar way to the hints we’ve had for the next Need for Speed game.

So, we’ll have to wait and see what else is revealed in the coming months, but it’s certainly good news for racing gamers that The Crew 2 will arrive fairly soon (for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC we imagine).

There’s also the question of where it’ll be set, with the original – reportedly played by over 12 million online players – having a vast (but scaled down, obviously) open-world recreation of the USA.

A few people have suggested Europe which would make some sense with Ubisoft being a French game publisher, and they’ve already covered the US.

Expect to hear more about The Crew 2 at Ubisoft’s E3 conference on the 12 June, where we will probably get our first details of the game.

The physics were much worse on release. After the graphics and physics updates a while back it was much much better and actually made the game atleast enjoyable. With the progress i saw made with the first one im actually looking forward to this one.

NFS 2015 was supposed to be a tribute to it, and people were calling it Underground 3, but it’s not worthy of the title

As Brent Catan said, NFS 2015 was an Underground type of game. Obviously it wasn’t as good as Underground 2, but it had the same game concept. Also, I don’t think that NFS 2017 would be that great of a game if it was a full on Underground type of game. What would make it good is if they take concepts from various successful titles (such as Underground, Most Wanted, Hot Pursuit, etc.) and they put all of those concepts into one game, which is what they’re doing right now

If the map is Europe, can be a great game, because is a new map, but if it’s America, it’s the same thing again.
The game was horrible in physics, pissed me off a lot racing but I used to play to take a free ride and relax

A new driver game would be great. Interestingly enough, Watch Dogs 1 started out as a Driver game in very early development.

Interesting that Ubisoft didn’t offer any form of DLC for Driver SF. I wonder why that was?

Crew is in my opinion best game for roadtrips across America, so it would be great to see sequel in Europe, PC platform is missing something like Forza Horizon 2.

The Crew 1 was absolute trash. The physics were awful, the story was meh, and the economy balanced around microtransactions was inexcusable.

I have to agree with you there. They focused too much on the map, which there really isn’t a point to. If a game doesn’t have a good story and physics, I don’t care about the map size.
