The VW Up GTI Could Be Yours For £139 A Month

We don’t often find ourselves talking about Personal Contract Plans (PCP) on CT, but then they’re not often as tempting as this particular deal. It concerns the new Up GTI, the kinda/sorta saviour of the performance car world, which you can now have for a mere £139 a month.

You’ll need to lay down a £3,493.38 deposit first, to which VW will contribute £500. Then it’s 47 monthly payments of £139, and if you want to keep the car, an optional payment of £4,559.40 to keep it at the end, plus a £10 fee. All told, you’ll be £14,595 down, compared to the £13,750 on-the-road cash price for the three-door version. Just £845 more, in other words.

The VW Up GTI Could Be Yours For £139 A Month

There is an annual mileage limit of 10,000, but in a car like an Up GTI, it’s not something many are likely to breach. If you do, it’s 4.8p per mile.

Both the three and five-door versions (the latter is £14,150, by the way) of the entertaining 113bhp hatch are on sale now.

It’s hard to find cheap cars nowadays, this is as cheap as you can get.

If you get this as your first car your insurance payments will be higher than your PCP payments

It’s a little bit ridiculous how that can apply to a 113hp three cylinder but such is life

That is a good deal but my issue with the PCP deals is if you do a lot of miles a year like i do they cost a fortune. I clock up a minimum of 18000 miles a year in the UK.

True, but in the case of the Up, if you’re doing that kind of mileage, it’s probably not the sort of car you’d want….

If my man maths are right it’s only a extra £380 or so for those extra 8000 miles.

Personally that’s not too bad.

Its cheap now but my plan is to wait about a year and see whats available on the second hand market. The up gti is probably going to sell very well so there should be a lot of choice in a years time. What would make it even better if vw were to do a peformance pack or something similar so owners of early cars will be more lilkey to trade in and make the second hand market even stronger.
