Rolls-Royce Just Revealed The Bonkers Vision Next 100 And We're Not Sure What To Feel

Looking like what Batman might drive in a Minority Report/DC Comics mash-up, this new concept from Rolls is certainly a distinctive thing...

Earlier this year BMW revealed the ultra-futuristic Vision Next 100 concept, and now subsidiary Rolls-Royce has had a crack at predicting what’s to come. It’s also called the Vision Next 100 - revealed today alongside the Mini Vision Next 100 - and it looks completely nuts.

There’s that weird pinched, depressed face, a swooping roofline and weird pod things which hold the wheels - it really is a feast for the eyes, and we’re not sure whether or not that’s a good thing.

Being a look at what’s about to come in the world of motoring, it is of course powered by an electric drivetrain (Rolls hasn’t revealed any details for exactly what kind of electric powertrain we’re looking at), and inevitably it’s also autonomous. Be warned, Parker: you might be out of the job before too long.

Naturally, since it’s autonomous, there’s no steering wheel or driver’s seat. Instead, there’s what Rolls-Royce describes as the “Grand Sanctuary”, where “our passengers step in unbowed, with consummate grace and dignity.” Quite.

The company also describes the space as having a “futuristic but handcrafted lounge atmosphere,” which is probably why a bloody great sofa has been dumped in the cabin. With no seat belts.

It is ugly, but with those tyres you should be able to do some nice skids.

A concept like this would be great from Toyota or Mazda. Or Honda. Not Rolls Royce.

I think it’s really funny seeing all of these concepts with weird ‘’wheels’’ but you can still see the small skinny tires hidden underneath :p
