This 350bhp, 750kg racer is coming to a track near you soon, and not just for occasional track days.

Described by its makers as “an all-new track and race car conceived, designed, developed and built by racers for racers.” It’s the work of Radical Sportscars co-founder Phil Abbott and British designer Simon Cox, who is said to have had free licence to make it look however he wanted.

The astonishing-looking result is the first product of fledgling car maker Revolution Racecars, which built it to compete in “a number of” existing race championships. It brings Le Mans Prototype (LMP) degrees of downforce, construction and safety to a much lower cost base.

Said to be heading for a high-five-figure entry price, it features two seats in a German-made carbonfibre tub, ahead of a 3.7-litre Ford V6 tuned for a balance of power and reliability. Revolution Racecars promises over 6000 miles between rebuilds.

The gearbox is a specialist six-speed sequential item from 3MO. It’s similar to the kit fitted to World Rally Championship cars. The steering wheel is claimed to be roughly like those in Formula 1, with digital readouts and controls accessed via wheel-mounted buttons, dials and switches.
