We may only have one more episode of The Grand Tour with the iconic presenting trio left to enjoy, but it’s definitely not the end of Clarkson, Hammond and May on our TVs. We’ve been waiting a while for the next instalment of the runaway success that is Clarkson’s Farm, and we’ve finally got a trailer and a release date: 3 May.

The show takes a look at Clarkson’s experiences running his 1,000-acre farm in the Cotswolds, and its first two seasons were met with strong reviews. It’s also propelled other cast members, notably Clarkson’s assistant Kaleb Cooper, to major stardom.

The third series looks to pick up where the second left off, with Clarkson still facing planning issues with the restaurant that briefly operated from the site. It appears as if the season hinges around a big promotion for Kaleb, and a competition between the two to see who can make the most money.

The trailer features pretty much everything we’ve come to expect from the show: lots of lighter moments mixed in with a look at the sometimes grim reality of farming, Kaleb looking like a fish out of water, and some incomprehensible Gloucestershire dialect from another breakout star, Gerald.

Elsewhere, there are amorous pigs, out-of-control mushroom growth, a terrible incident with a harness, and Clarkson getting headbutted in the crotch by a goat. It culminates in a visit to Number 10, although the reason why isn’t quite clear.

What there isn’t much of is cars, but the show’s nevertheless struck a chord with both fans of Top Gear and The Grand Tour, and others who get to see a different, rather gentler side to Clarkson than we’re used to from his car shows.

It doesn’t seem like series three will stray too much from this formula, but we’ll get to find out for sure soon. The series debuts on Amazon Prime in two parts, with the first arriving on 3 May and the second a week later on 10 May.
