This Moped-Riding Lunatic Hit Cars And People In A Bizarre Urban Clash

Brace for weirdness, because this one’s a doozy. We join the action as a heavily-bearded man on an illegally-loaded Honda moped is being surrounded by an angry mob.

The action takes place in the Cornish town of St Ives, which is packed with people at the time. According to the poster of the video, Jake Swordy, the bearded man had repeatedly lost control of the moped, damaged a brand new BMW M4 and Audi Q7, and then tried to run several people down on his way through an apparently pedestrianised part of town.

The moustachioed man in the yellow and white shirt claims to have been hit, and wants the rider’s details - and the latter is legally obliged to give them. The rider tries to ride through him and the crowd reacts angrily, with people taking both sides and one woman claiming that the rider is homeless and should be left alone. We’re not sure the owners of the M4 and Q7 would agree with that.

Over three-and-a-half minutes of increasingly bizarre footage, the rider repeatedly tries to make his escape, various people try to stop him and he manages to fall off several times, sometimes because he was pushed, and other times because he’s unable to control the moped. It might be the unbalanced load he’s carrying, or he might be drunk, for all we know.

Eventually he escapes up an alley, nearly wiping-out an innocent woman who was looking the other way. If he is homeless, it’s unlikely the bike is insured, taxed or MOT’d, and there’s no way people would get any money out of him, but the victims here have a right to see him put through the courts.
