Mark your calenders now: a Gran Turismo Sport demo is coming to the PlayStation store for download from 7 October. And it’s no ordinary demo.

It’ll be playable from 9 October at 10am BST through to 12 October at 2pm, and as it’s far more extensive than your average demo, you’ll actually be able to carry over any progress you make to the full game, up to a credit limit of “$1MM.”

There’ll be Sport (that’s the online-focused one), Campaign and Arcade modes to choose from. Arcade features three tracks: a high-speed oval called Northern Isle, a more technical track dubbed ‘Dragon Trail’, and the Colorado rally stage for sideways, dirt-based shenanigans. You’ll even be able to challenge your mates to a race, as there’ll be a split-screen option for the Arcade section.

The Campaign mode features a number of challenges, missions and circuit experiences to try, earning you credits, Experience Points and vehicle unlocks that’ll you be able to enjoy in the proper game.

Want to slow things down a little? There’s also the ‘Scapes’ photo mode (above) to try out, plus an extensive Livery Editor.

It’ll be available to pre-download from 7 October at 10am BST. The full game will be released on 17 October in North America and 18 October in Europe.

I’m really sad that there will be only 150 cars ! In GT4 i used to collect cars, gt lost the essence of collecting and racing, good times where gt had 50 variations of the NA Mx-5.

SO GLAD IT’S EARLIER! I bought a PS4 almost 2 years ago when they first promised to release. 1 month ago T300 RS. AC on PC is pretty awesome but feels less user friendly and not as much to do in game other than lapping times or drifting. Also waiting on GT to fulfill next promises like 200+ more cars after release as said. Had to be around 500 in the end if I remember correctly.

It kinda is and not. I did make all my money back from 1 year because I got Just Cause 3 for free (70€). But I wanted to buy it anyway. You have to be lucky basically
