The Hyundai i30 N Gets Two New Teasers Ahead Of 13 July Reveal

We get an early (and deliberately blurry) look at Hyundai's Golf GTI beater in one of these new teasers, plus a reveal date

The Hyundai i30 N is almost here. It’s been spotted undergoing testing at the Nurburgring numerous times, prototypes have been driven by the motoring media, and now, we actually get to see it without camouflage. Sort of.

In a new teaser trailer (above) we get a close-up look at various go-faster bits on the i30 N, including a honeycomb grille and a rear diffuser. We also see it out on track in a handful of deliberately blurry shots. But the most important thing we learn is when the car gets here: the description promises a 13 July premiere.

The second teaser features Albert Biermann, who has the snappy job title of Executive Vice President Head of Vehicle Test and High Performance Development. He goes to great lengths to tell us this is going to be a fun car, and we hope he’s right: this car kicks off Hyundai’s sporty ‘N’ sub-brand, so it could do with being good.

It’ll be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, with a power output of around 280bhp. Early signs indicate that Hyundai is taking aim more at the VW Golf GTI than the Honda Civic Type R, so don’t expect any Nurburgring records to be tumbling any time soon.
