Watch How The Original Porsche 911 'Evolved' Into The 991.2

To celebrate the one millionth 911 produced, Porsche has revealed a neat video showing how Stuttgart's illustrious sports car has changed over the years

If we wanted to be really picky, we could point out that a few of the 911’s various mid-life facelifts were missed off this video, and for some reason it’s the 2009 997.2 appearing in 2005, which is used to cover the whole 997 generation.

Pedant hat locked away though, and this is undeniably a cool video. The current 991.2 911 may be much larger than the original 911, but as shown above, the instantly recognisable silhouette has been carried over through 54 years of production featuring six distinct generations.

Over one million 911s have now been produced, with the millionth example - an Irish Green 991.2 Carrera S - currently in the midst of a celebratory world tour.
