Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Will Cost "Well Below" $100k

FCA's Tim Kuniskis has dropped a big hint about the cost of Dodge's drag strip monster
Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Will Cost

As Dodge so gleefully told us during that extensive teaser campaign, the new Challenger SRT Demon has been heavily re-engineered compared to the ‘lesser’ Hellcat. We’re talking about the addition of an air conditioning-based charge cooler , a trans brake, a heavily upgraded driveline and much more besides. With all those changes, this thing is going to be devilishly expensive, right? Well, not necessarily.

Speaking to Road and Track, Tim Kuniskis - FCA’s Head of Passenger Car Brands - said: “Obviously [the Demon’s price] will be more than a regular Hellcat, but it’s gonna be well below six figures”. With the Hellcat costing $64,195 in the USA (it’s not sold in the UK, boo etc), we’re going to make an educated guess of around $90,000 for the Demon.

Given all the work that’s gone into it, and the fact we’re talking about an 840bhp car that’ll do 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds, that seems like outstanding value for money.
