Rolls-Royce special projects are always something to behold, and this one is straight out of the top drawer.

The one-off Wraith in question is part of a collection designed by Emirati contemporary artist Mohammed Kazem. Nice job if you can get it. The collection is called Directions and features written coordinates as a key design accent throughout.

The package is pretty much the definition of unnecessary, but it’s undeniably art. Some critics say that true art has no higher purpose than its own existence, and you could apply that phrase directly to the bespoke modifications in this Wraith.

One of the highlights is the outrageously stunning Starlight headliner. Within a unique layout of blue and purple LEDs swirling gracefully along the headlining are the geographic coordinates of all the people involved in making it. We’re not exactly sure what this means, but you might just be able to make out the illuminated numbers that describe the coordinates.

The headliner alone took 90 hours to produce, with 60,000 stitches and 863 individual fibre-optic lines that all had to be placed individually. It also has a backlit clock that features the same style of alphanumeric coordinates on the face, and a unique plaque, again bearing coordinates; this time of the Rolls-Royce factory at Goodwood.

It’s set for public display in Abu Dhabi alongside other pieces of art from Kazem, but if you’re thinking of phoning the factory and asking how much, don’t bother. It’s already sold to a Middle-Eastern customer who no doubt can’t wait to add it to their extensive collection.
