A Dealership Is Apparently Selling 1200bhp Mustangs For $45k, But It's Not That Simple
When we learned that an Ohio Ford dealership is offering 1200bhp Ford Mustangs for $44,449, we weren’t at all surprised to find out the particular establishment.
It is of course Lebanon Ford, a dealer which hit the headlines last year for selling 717bhp Mustang GTs for the low, low price of $39,995. So how - you might ask - can they offer a brand new ‘Stang with 500bhp more than that, for just a $5000 increase? Well, they can’t - not quite.
While it’s impressive Lebanon can sell you a brand new Mustang with a fully fitted LFP Hellion twin-turbo kit, upgraded injectors and a cat-back exhaust for that price, the magic 1200 figure is only possible “with supporting mods”.
Even the ‘Package 2’ version of the kit - which adds upgraded halfshafts and even fancier injectors among other things - isn’t going to be enough for a hypercar baiting power figure. Still, it’ll provide one hell of a starting point for quarter-mile glory, and for not much money, even if you’ll need to spend a fair bit more to get it over 1000bhp.
So, we want to ask you: this plus some extra mods, or that incoming Dodge Challenger SRT Demon?

That’s a perfect way if you want to go switch into full Phil mode and blow your engine. American V8s are durable, but running 1200 bhp on stock 5.0 Coyote internals is just madness. I very much doubt that forged pistons and heavy duty connection rods can go under “supporting mods”.
Read the actual article on Lebanon Fords page. They don’t run or sell a 1200hp Mustang. And they especially don’t run it on stock innies.

They’re being sold in LHD now in Britain for the 2017 or 2018 model year.

Wow. Talk about reckless journalism. They don’t promise you a car with 1200hp. That part is up to you. It states clearly that you’ll be getting a 727hp Roush parted Mustang for $45k. And that if you want you can mod the internals to produce 1200hp. Not that hard to understand.
Sorry, Hellion parted Mustang. Not Roush. My point still stands tho.
