Paul Walker Could Return To The Fast And Furious Franchise

After a fitting tribute to the late Paul Walker at the end of Fast and Furious 7, it seems that we haven’t seen the last of the JDM-loving character after all. Talks between Vin Diesel and Walker’s brothers began earlier this year to try and reintroduce the Brian O’Connor character to the film series in a respectful manner that will serve as a further tribute to the popular actor.

Paul Walker Could Return To The Fast And Furious Franchise

The filming procedure will probably involve similar methods seen in the last film, with CGI and body doubles to step in for the deceased Walker. Both of his brothers - Cody and Caleb - will probably be used again to take Paul’s place, with the depth of the role yet to be confirmed. Speaking to ET, Caleb Walker said: “I had a phone call with Vin [Diesel] for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing.”

With Fast and Furious 8 due to be released in cinemas in April 2017, it can be assumed that the ninth film in the franchise may feature the ex-cop character yet again.

How do you feel about this artificial return of Walker to the silver screen? Was Furious 7 the perfect goodbye to his character, or should he live on in the plots of future films? Comment below with your thoughts!

I thought that it’d maybe be nice to show a short scene of him playing with his kids in fast and furious 9

Just so he still exists in the movies universe

Is it weird that I love Tokyo Drift more than all of them. None of the others embody car culture like that one.

Tokyo Drift is my favourite to, after that one they completely screwed it up. we need more cars and street racing or even a certain car culture as main point in the movie like tokyo drift. either that, or let someone else do it.

The first three ones were the best.

As much as I like Paul Walker and the Brian O’Connor character, there comes a point where things should be left alone. I don’t think it’s a good idea to continue the character on both a story and an emotion level. It’s time to let go of Paul’s character.

I think we should keep the style of the character (good cop/boy gone bad etc.) and also a jdm lover. But maybe they can do something with Sean (from Tokyo Drift), I do love the JDM character that Paul played in contrast to Vins’ muscle car character. But they should really let go of Paul and his family I think. (it also seems a little sick doesn’t it? Like imagine going in as the actor and you have to play as your dead sibling, that is just a little messed up I think.
