Along with some big names of the car world, the LMP1-replacing ‘hypercar class’ of the FIA World Endurance Championship will also include some more specialist entries.

One of them will be Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, maker of racing cars and ultra-low volume supercars. The outfit - formed and owned by filmmaker turned automotive entrepreneur James Glickenhaus - has just released a new set of renders depicting the car it’ll be fielding in the 2020 - 2021 WEC season.

We still don’t know a whole lot about its technical specification, other than the engine, which will be a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6. There’s no word on the structure of the car, the suspension, or whether it’ll be packing hybrid system, which is allowed under the new rules but not mandated. Most of us can probably agree that it looks rather handsome.

When releasing another render of the car last year, Glickenhaus said that it would be only be building two racers - one for itself, and one customer car. There will also be a run of 25 road cars costing $1 million each.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus will be racing against competition variants of the Aston Martin Valkyrie and the Toyota GR Super Sport. LMP1 privateer ByKolles has said it will enter with a new version of its Enso prototype racer, and with 15 different manufacturers said to have attended talks about the regulations with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, more challengers could be coming out of the woodwork soon.
