Supercars Racer Displays Bonkers Commitment In Bathurst Qualifying

James Courtney put on an incredible performance while qualifying for the 2018 Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama

The Australian Supercars series took to Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 1000 at the weekend, which means we’re busy looking at videos like this with mouths agape.

The above clip shows James Courtney put in an incredibly committed performance during qualifying, coming perilously close to striking a wall in the process. Consider us rather impressed.

Courtney ended the session 5th fastest, going through to the Top 10 Shootout, in which he finished 8th. Unfortunately, he and Jack Perkins weren’t able to get to the chequered flag in the race, with the number 25 Walkinshaw Andretti United Holden Commodore retiring on lap 33 due to a mechanical issue.

Want more Bathurst driving mastery? We highly recommend watching David Reynolds’ qualifying lap too - he snatched pole from Jamie Whincup by just 0.0094sec - and the incredible save from Scotty McLaughlin you can see above.

Reynolds and co-driver Luke Youlden could only manage 13th in the race, however, while Craig Lowndes and Steven Richards took to the top step of the podium after 161 laps, ahead of Scott Pye and Warren Luff.
