McLaren Has Just Revealed How Bonkers Fast The 600LT Is

Last week, McLaren revealed the new 600LT to the world. Best thought of as the Sport Series’ answer to the old 675LT, it takes a 570S, ups the power to 592bhp, sheds nearly 100kg, and gains fancy double wishbone suspension pinched from Woking’s Super Series range. Oh, and let’s not forget those super-sticky Pirelli Trofeo R tyres at each corner.

At the time, the British supercar builder refrained from giving us any performance statistics, but just before the car makes its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, we have a full set of numbers. And damn, are they impressive.

0-62mph takes just 2.9 seconds, which is exactly the same as a Lamborghini Huracan Performante and the 675LT. In fact, it’ll apparently be faster than the last LT car around some circuits. 0-124mph takes just 8.2 seconds meanwhile, some seven tenths quicker than the Lambo. Keep your right foot pinned, and it’ll keep going until a top speed of 204mph.

The 600LT gains an extended front splitter, a longer rear diffuser and a bigger, fixed rear wing, extending the car by 74mm. Hence the LT standing for ‘Longtail’. The new aero package generates 100kg of downforce at 155mph. Impressive, but quite a bit behind the Ferrari 488 Pista, which is good for 325kg at the same speed.
