Ford is a company that always tries something new. Well we can thank our lucky stars that the 1957 Ford Nucleon did not go into production. The 1950’s was an exciting time for nuclear power since it claimed to produce clean and safe electricity. During 1958, Ford released a 3/8 scale Ford Nucleon concept. It had a sleek futuristic look and emmitted no harmful gases and claimed to have amazing fuel mileage. This was thanks to the atomic fission reactor in the trunk. This fission reactor could be best described as a radioactive core.
