Most F1 fans who are old enough to be active on online forums and other places of discussion grew up watching F1 during the V8 era, the V10 era, or even the V12 and the old turbo V6 era. They heard engines that shrieked and cackled across the track and across the world through TV sets. Ask any fan, and they will tell you that what makes Formula 1 the best motorsport of them all were those sounds. Which is probably why there are weepings and gnashing of teeth when the the current V6 hybrid power unit is brought up. Even the new owners of the sport are trying to get rid of it by 2020.

I don’t know why people don’t like Hamilton so much, even though I’m not his or any driver’s fan, he seems like a great sportsman who knows how to acknowledge his bad days and mistakes and put in work to improve himself. Sure, he changed from a boy racer of ‘07 to a glamorized superstar, but just because his lifestyle doesn’t strike accord with you, it’s not a reason to hate a man is it? It’s not like he’s not setting pole positions since that happened.

In Top Gear he drifted (like when he drove the 918 around Abu Dhabi) with onboard footages, but according to episode 13 of TGT, he never knew how. Seems a bit odd that they did that.

When you are browsing CT and other F1 sites, people love to criticize and hate on modern F1 and rant about how there is “no real racing anymore” and I’m sorry, I just can’t find that true. I know about the Senna era and Schumacher era, and I absolutely adore those times in Formula 1. But I think hating on modern F1 is a total disservice to the phenomenal drivers and constructors. Apart from the actually stupid high degrading tires, I think the racing is as good if not better at times than the olden days. Why do people actually hate modern F1?

Hello, Ctzens! I’ve recently started an internship at an online magazine as an automotive correspondent, and as my first article, I wrote about what I think is the greatest manufacturer in motorsports history. It’s my first, so there are few rough spots here and there, but give it a go and tell me what you think! Every page view I get goes toward my monthly evaluation so all reads are appreciated!
