Seat Ibiza 12 plate boot issue

Hi so I’m a 31 ye old female and I have no clue about cars at all but I have a baffling problem with my seat Ibiza 2012 car.

My boot won’t open. Took it to the garage he said the lock works but the handle needs replaced. He checked the wiring and there was electric running through. So I bought a new handle and got someone to fit it but it still didn’t work. They said it must be the lock mechanism so I bought a new lock got that replaced and it still isn’t working.

It’s not a fuse as had that checked.

When you lift the handle there’s no clicking or weight behind it so at a loss at what the problem can be as have replaced the handle and lock and the electrics seem to be fine. Has anyone else had this issue before I take it back to another garage probably to have my eyeballs ripped out ????

Iv been without it for a few weeks now and it’s a nightmare trying to get a pram in and out as I have to climb through the back to unlock it

Thanks for any advice on advance

Iv never even seen one of those cars. Sounds to me like id need to see it in person to give u any solid idea of whats going on.

You may not like the idea but take it to the dealer and pay for the diagnoses. The amount of money you probably spent already you could have taken it to the dealer the first time.

The whole “no weight behind the handle” sounds like the lock mechanism itself doesn’t do anything. But you said that it’s new and replaced correctly.

Is there a way to manually unlock it with the key? If that works and the power lock itself recieves power, then it must have something to do with the signal from the remote or the wiring that brings the signal to that particular lock.
