Any love for the Volvo 480 Turbo?

The Volvo 480 Turbo was my 3th car and i loved it!
With 122 bhp and it weighs under a ton it was not the fastest but as a young boy it was quite fun!
and of course the best of all… pop-up headlight!!

And as a Dutch man, it was a bit nationalistic. being designed by a Dutchmen, it was build in the Netherlands and it was driven there.
The engine was from a renault 5 but Volvo though it was not powerful enough. then handed over to Porsche how squeaks more power out of it (180bhp) with a other turbo and overhead cam.

Sadly Volvo said it was to much… and limited the power to 122 bhp.
but with a little effort and a ECU from the first build year you could skip the original Porsche setup back :D

The 480 was also the first FWD Volvo, altrough some of the first press reviews though it was RWD.

I hope there are here some more 480 turbo lovers.
And if you know any more facs about the 480 please share!
