Daily driving an Integra Type R?

I am a 17 year old living in southeast Michigan. My high school is 2 miles away from my house and any job I get would be under ten miles away. I have a liscense, but no car, and have been in love with Integras, especially the R ever since I was a little boy. How many of you daily your integras? I don’t think I can convince my parents to let me buy this car if I have to get a second one as a daily, but I know Type Rs are rare and I found a few for cheaper than normal, but they are still pricy.

I’d say go for it if you can find them! They may be a bit stiff for a daily and some people think bolstered seats are not comfortable after a while of driving. If you enjoy that ride, driving the itr will be the highlight of your day.

As for theft… it’s a manual in the USA, you’ll be okay. Just make sure to lock your wheels with a key lug. On the reliability side integras last forever, it may be harder to find parts for without importing them but it’s not like you couldn’t ever find parts. Overall a good car, I know an older guy with one and he’s had zero issues.

Insurance might be high for a R, def make sure it’s a real R

As for daily driving just keep up with regular maintenance. My alternator, radiator and iac valve have been replaced since I’ve owned mine for almost a year now. I need to do better w maintenance but it’s fine

I have an rsx-S. I daily it, parts are cheapish. The struggle with Michigan is rust, then there’s the issue with insurance and parts for the type R. (also RHD which is inconvenient) just making sure you’re aware of that. If you can get one, keep her clean and runnin, go for it!!!!

As it’s your first car, I’d suggest going for a regular one for a bit, and then once insurance has gone down and you get better as a driver get a type R. I’d get an RSX and then buy a Honda front bumper to make it look nicer personally

My parents are probabbly gonna make me pay for part of it but it’s much cheaper than having on your own plan

Hi Roberto!

I’m afraid we don’t import anything into the US… :(

But the good news is we do hold and sell in the US! Check this link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XSJQ9FJ

Delivery is standard American time frames!
