Time To Watch The Grand Tour Trio Get 'More American'

It looks like The Grand Tour isn't quite adopting the American way of things just yet, if this new teaser is anything to go by

Jeremy Clarkson is a lot of things. Angry, irritable, arrogant, clever, an excellent writer, fat and rich, for starters. One thing he is not, is American. And that’s exactly where the next behind-the-scenes teaser for The Grand Tour comes in.

Clarkson, Hammond and May have apparently just had an email from Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, asking them to be more American. Clarkson reels off a list of attributes that define the traditional English appearance, relating that definitively to himself and his two sagging colleagues.

To cure that, they take a trip to an actual make-up truck, complete with hand-written sign outside and make-up artist within. Tasked with making the trio look more American, she sets about her business. Tip-Ex is involved (other rubbish white-coloured eraser liquids are available).

The transformation for Clarkson and May is, err, dramatic. The changes for Hammond are… well, there aren’t any. No fan of Old New Top Gear or these three stooges will need that long-running joke explaining.

I don’t know how he nailed it that well to this day. I live in the most american part of america (alabama, obviously) and that was just… too accurate.

I still want “The American” to come back. He was annoying to some, but I personally found him hilarious - in some ways, his mocking of Americans were actually true.

Also, he was played by Mike Skinner. I like him.

He really didn’t deserve all the hate he got. He was pretty good as a driver and the Stig’s silence got a bit boring after a few seasons to me.

Wish I could watch a dang car show without them getting political. Disappointed in this decision even if it is a joke. My respect has gone down for the show.
