This Nissan GT-R-Engined Juke-R700 Is Yours For £570k

One of five GT-R-engined Jukes has come up for sale, although you'll need to pay a hefty price to take the keys

It’s not strictly accurate to call this mutant crossover a ‘GT-R-engined Nissan Juke’. Really, it’s more of a Juke-bodied GT-R. Also, the body is unlike anything you’d find on the standard car - the panels are much wider, and made from carbon fibre.

Commissioned by Nissan and built by Severn Valley Motorsports, the Juke-R700 sits on a shortened GT-R platform supplied by RML, and yes, the R35’s VR38DETT turbocharged V6 is present and correct.

It sends 700bhp to all four wheels, making for some particularly outrageous straight-line performance. In case the speed catches you out, there’s a full roll cage plus a fire extinguisher.

Ensuring all that power is transmitting to the tarmac effectively, the Juke-R700’s GT-R wheels are shod in sticky Bridgestone RE070R tyres measuring 255/40/20 at the front and 285/35/20 at the rear. Behind the wheel and tyre combo, you’ll find huge brakes with 400mm discs used at the front, while the damping is taken care of by Nitron shocks.

The interior is an unholy marriage of Juke and GT-R parts, but you do get a Bose audio system, which might just be able to drown out the R700’s custom exhaust system.

Brilliantly ridiculous though this creation might be, it’s not a one-off. Nissan commissioned five of Juke-Rs - the first two were crashed, while the next couple were retained by the company, making this fifth and final Juke-R the only one a member of the public will ever have a chance of buying.

Whoever fancies it needs to bring with them a fair wedge of cash, though. The car is currently for sale in Germany via James Edition for €649,500, which is about £570,000.

£570,000 of nope.

It may have the drivetrain of a GT-R and more than enough power, but I wouldn’t want to be seen in anything even resembling a Juke..

All the power doesn’t make it any bit less hideous. If you were spending so much money and time on developing a car that’s ultimately just a PR piece, you might as well have chosen one that’s not ugly.

so they’re selling a car worth less than a gtr, adding some gtr components, then making it over 5x the price of a gtr? where is the logic?

It is a one-off. Simple supply and demand. The rarer they are, the more they are are worth.

Half a million on this? You could probably spend $120K on a used juke, GTR drivetrain, labor and custom fab work and STILL have money left for gas. NOPE

But come on, this is an offical one fron Nissan, the only one in the world available…

While it is indeed too expensive, I’m pretty sure there’s no way you could build it again for just $120k, especially if you’re giving the job to a specialized shop. Even less having money left at the end.

Probably the carbon fiber bodywork is what makes this project expensive.

Too much for a Juke

Just because it beat a Veyron in a drag race doesn’t make it a half a million dollar car

A lot of people seem to be incredibly enraged by this car… It’s a freaking Juke with GTR underpinnings.. how can you not love it 😂

No one seems “incredibly enraged” at all. People are rightfully saying it’s not worth even 20% of what they’re asking for it.
“It’s a freaking Juke” you’ve explained why no one likes it

This would be a 570k investment to piss off Hammond

You see, I don’t want a 488 Pista and an M5 Competition. What I really want is the ugliest car from the last decade with some bits from a GT-R.

Why not? Sure it’s too expensive, but at a more “reasonable” price why wouldn’t you want one, I mean that thing managed to beat a Veyron in a drag race (officially it was beaten by the Veyron, but it was only by a couple thousands of a second on a standing mile, and it was leading the entire time up to the last second where it got beaten due to the Veyron’s higher trap speed), and I remember that when it was revealed a couple years ago it stirred up a lot of news in the car community.

If Nissan would have a Wörthersee meeting, that’s exactly the kind of stuff that would be built for that.

And as far as it goes when it comes to the “ugliest car of the decade”, I’d rather give that title to the cube rather than the Juke.

I’m honestly wondering if that thing can get properly titled and registered in the first place
