This Is Britain's Most Stupid Double Yellow Line

Cambridge County Council worry local men after claiming that 13 inches is normal.

Remind me later
Toy Cars If you head over to this street in Cambridgeshire, you'll find the birthplace of Britain's tiniest double yellow lines. If you're stupid enough to park on them, you'll be slapped with a ridiculous £70 fine. So why the stupidly small lines? Cambridge County Council has painted 13 inches of yellow on the tarmac to stop drivers encroaching on the bays either side. Forgive us for asking the obvious question, but isn't that what the white lines at the end of each bay are for in the first place?
"I've measured mine, now you measure yours."
Cambridge County Council has attempted to justify their actions by claiming "this is common practice," however local residents aren't impressed. Nik Hazell, 21, said “It’s ridiculous. I have no idea why they have done that. You can’t even fit a remote control car on it.” Councillor Rob Dryden, a former mayor of Cambridge, agrees but believes that "perhaps a child with a toy car could park there." Thoughts?
