For any petrolhead, the cars are generally the stars whenever a new James Bond movie is released. With Spectre - the 24th Bond film - to be released this year, our attention has been turning to what the man himself (and the guys he’s out to stop) will be driving.

Back in December Bond’s new Aston Martin DB10 was unveiled, with its elegant design befitting the suave and sophisticated spy. But what about the bad guys? They’re always much cooler, so Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations department worked on creating some suitably badass machinery for the film’s evildoers.

The photo at the top of the page shows the three cars it has built for the film, a Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar C-X75 and Land Rover Defender Big Foot. The C-X75 - Jaguar’s cancelled supercar - will be driven by the film’s main villain, culminating in a chase through Rome with the Aston. The Jag has been built with Williams Advanced Engineering in England, and is rumoured to run the F-Type’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 rather than the gas turbine/electric motor setup of the original concept.

The SVR and ‘Big Foot’ have been heavily modified for use in the film, and have been filmed in Austria. The Defender has been given 37-inch diameter off-road tyres to tackle extreme terrain, as well as bespoke suspension systems and enhanced body protection. The prominent light bars on the top of both 4x4s could indicate they star in a night-time car chase.
