The Mercedes-AMG GT-R Has Been Teased In Some Really, Really Dark Photos
Somewhere lurking in the shadows of these pictures is the upcoming AMG GT-R, due for reveal at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
We’re just over a week away from the reveal of the AMG GT-R, and Mercedes has given us the best look yet at the brute thanks to some teaser images. And yes, they’re the sort of teaser images that have been deliberately made very dark, something which can be partially rectified by firing up Photoshop and fiddling with the brightness. Do that, and the pictures are reasonably revealing.
The pictures show a much angrier front end, with larger intakes and revised aero on the bumper, and what looks like a much more substantial rear wing.
Under the skin we can anticipate larger brakes, beefed up suspension and a fettled version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 in the AMG GT-S, which is expected to produce as much as 570bhp.

Should point that it’s “GT R”, not “GT-R” because GT-R name is owned by Nissan and to avoid confusion, AMG’s new car is spelled as GT R (without the dash).

I’ve heard that it’s a weight saving feature, that there’s no dash.

Presumably it’s not made by the black series nutters in AMG. So might be another but that does mean there would be 4 different GT’s

It should be. It would be joining the CLK BLACK, SL BLACK, C63 BLACK, SLS BLACK……….
I still wish it had the glorious 6.2 liter V8 from the SLS AMG, the C63 AMG, and the Mercedes-AMG GT3, but maybe tuned for a bit more performance!
The new engine is faster, feels faster and accelerates more ferocious.
Have you ever driven one? Both? Back to back? No ones ever gonna take the old above the new except for sound.
