Suzuki Swift common problems

Key fob problem

If there are problems with the central locking not working it could be flat battery. You should try replacing the battery first, if this doesn’t fix the issue, it could be that the control module is failing or has failed. If this is the case, the module will need to be replaced.

Clutch slip

The clutch on the Swift is known for being very light, but if it feels like the car is revving and not going anywhere, it probably means the clutch is failing. A good way to test is to put it in a high gear at a lowish speed (within reason) and fully pressing the accelerator, if the clutch is slipping, you will get a lot of revs but no movement.

Dashboard noise

The clips that hold the dashboard in place are prone to failure. The whole dashboard will need to be removed, with new clips put in place and then the dashboard refit. This will solve the problem.

Electric Window Issue

If you can hear a rattle against the glass while driving, and the window drops a little when its all the way up, it will mean there is a bolt that has come loose, this will cause both or at least one of these problems. To fix this, the bolt will need to be tightened.
