BBC bosses are desperate to get Hammond and May back on Top Gear, which is why they're willing to throw millions at the pair. If the deal goes ahead, we could see Clarkson join them as a guest host!
Desperate BBC Is Offering £4.6m To Get Hammond And May Back On Broken Top Gear

Top Gear is/was the BBC’s biggest earner, and since everything went belly up with one punch to the mouth, it’s fair to assume that the broadcasting giant is starting to feel the pinch.

With that in mind, it’s now desperate to get the two remaining good guys - Hammond and May - back in the Top Gear studio after the pair chose not to renew their contracts without Clarkson at their side; that’s what you call loyalty.

That’s why a deal of £4.6m has been put on the table to tempt them back. The offer would net the duo around £1.15m a year and would cover two or three series.

If the pair take the deal (unlikely seeing that they don’t need the money and that they’re as loyal to Clarkson as old dogs are to a farmer), they’d host the show with a guest presenter each week. This could open the door for a brief Clarkson return.

Even with Hammond and May, the success of Top Gear would still be uncertain, however; the world’s beloved motoring show is now broken in every petrolhead’s mind. We’ve also mourned its passing and know damn well that without Clarkson, it’ll never really hit the mark.

For that reason, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Hammond and May stay true to their word and look to the future with Clarkson at another broadcaster.

What are your thoughts?
