7 Records That Shocked The Car World

From drifting to parallel parking and all sorts in between, these world records are absolutely incredible

The driver, Han Yue, parked his Mini in a gap only 8cm longer than the car. Alastair Moffatt - a previous holder of the record - went even better last April by parking a Fiat 500 in a space just 7.5cm longer than it.

This is another record that has since been broken, but it’s still brilliant to watch. Johan Schwartz was able to keep this M5 sideways for an amazing 51.278 miles.

The Venom GT achieved a speed of 270.49mph in 2014, smashing the top whack of the Bugatti Veyron. The record isn’t recognised by Guinness however, as the speed was only recorded in one direction and only 16 cars have been made - 30 would be necessary for the Venom to qualify.

Yes, this is an actual working car, not a toy. It’s 63cm high and a little under 1.3 metres long, making it the smallest car in the world.

During this world record at Australia’s Summernats festival, 69 cars took part and managed to complete a 30 second burnout. It has since been topped by an American effort, but this one remains our favourite due to the great use of coloured smoke!

In this video, Rob Dyrdek attempts to do a jump, in reverse, that is 27 metres wide. Don’t act like you’re not impressed.
