Car nuts of the world must know everything about the GT86 by now. After all, it's been one of the most hotly anticipated rear wheel, purists' cars to come out this decade. But how can Toyota spread the word about how great their new Scirocco and MX-5 rival is to ordinary folk? The people who never look at Car Throttle or YouTube videos morning, noon and night. Simple, they just need a good TV advert.
Unlike with the Yaris Hybrid advert where Toyota actively try to target our environmentally-conscious parents with singing speed cameras and traffic lights, Toyota took a different approach to gain the attention of young-guns that love driving. Akin to an Xbox game, there exists a mission and super high end graphics.
The plot: the driver is stuck in a virtual world and his mission is to try and get back to reality using the new GT86 as a vital tool to escape. It's a similar story line to Mercedes' 'Escape The Map' campaign only there's no interactive competition to mess around with.
Check out their latest creation for yourself. If the advert doesn't do the car justice, let us know through the usual methods then check out our GT86 test drive in Barcelona. Before music fans ask, the song is 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien' by Edith Piaf.
