Watch A Kia Stinger GT Beat A V8 Ford Mustang In A Straight Line
On the face of it, the V8 Ford Mustang and the most powerful Kia Stinger don’t seem like the most obvious competitors, but they’re much more similar than you might realise. Depending on where you are in the world, they cost about the same. The Mustang is only a little more powerful, they’re both rear-wheel drive, acceleration stats are near-identical, and, um, they both have ‘GT’ in the name.
So, what happens when you pitch the pair into a straight-line battle? In the case of this showdown from Australia’s Motoring, it’s the 3.3-litre V6-powered Kia that comes out on top, and by a decent margin.
It also has the benefit of an extra pair of doors, plus a better warranty. But then again, it doesn’t have a thumping-great N/A V8.

Comparing a 2018 Stinger with an automatic transmission to an older Mustang with a manual? Nah…
A 2018 Mustang GT automatic will do 0 - 60 in a full second less than the best Kia.

I completely agree. On 300+BHP cars automatics tend to be faster than M/T due to the fact of A) greater power, B) clutch operation downtime vs near instant shift, C) due to downtime, lower RPMs and less power curve , and D) automatics/DCTs tend to have more gears = more linear power delivery and always on peak RPM performance (closer ratios). That’s why most performance BMWs, Audis, MBs are faster of the line and to 60/62mph than conventional manuals. SO WHEN PAIRING A 410BHP FORD MUSTANG WITH 10 SPEED AUTO VS A 360BHP KIA STINGER WITH THE 8 SPEED BOX, IT’S ALL DOWN TO POWER AND GRUNT + 2 EXTRA GEARS

GDi written on the KIA engine cover so its a Mitsubishi engine if Im not mistaken.

A Mitsubishi engine? No, it isn’t. Hyundai and KIA were no longer using Mitsubishi engines since a long time ago. If they use a Mitsubishi’s engine, what kind of engine they will use? Even Hyundai and Kia are more successful than Mitsubishi now (until Mitsubishi joined Renault Nissan alliance). They can build their engines on their own

This tells you everything you need to know about that race. I dont even like Mustangs but these days for a fair comparison you have to go for auto v auto and manual v manual.
What if the V6-Stang did this instead of the V8?, no hate or something, its just that the V8 has more power and ofc. gets wheelspin . . .so a V6 battle would be nice to watch
