Forza 7's March DLC Pack Includes An F1 Car, Classic Racers And...A Volvo XC90

The March Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 7 is great if you like classic race cars, but the road-going stuff is a little bit underwhelming

Turn 10 has launched the latest DLC pack for Forza 7 and it’s probably fair to say that the cars on offer is something of a mixed bunch. Simply called the ‘March Car Pack’ (no unusual sponsors this time), the four race cars on offer are certainly interesting, but you’re after any new road-going exotica you might be left disappointed.

Let’s get the road-going stuff out of the way first. The 2017 Lincoln Continental makes an appearance - sure, it may not be the most exciting car in the world but at least it’s the twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive, 400bhp version. If pick-ups are your thing meanwhile, you’ll be pleased to hear that the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is also included.

Then there’s the Volvo XC90. Even though it’s a great car in real life and it’s the 2.0-litre, 400bhp-plus hybrid version that’s included, be honest: have you ever really dreamed of thrashing one around on Forza?

There’s some meaty racing machinery on offer too, though none of it is contemporary. First up is another vintage set of wheels - the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spider from 1932. Some bloke called Enzo Ferrari raced this in period before he decided to quit racing and start his own company instead. You might have heard of it…

Next up are a couple of 1980s endurance racing legends. Jaguar enjoyed success at Le Mans in the late 1980s with the XJR-9 (which is already in the game) but the whole programme started stateside in 1983 when the Group 44 team commissioned the Jaguar XJR-5.

There’s also the Nissan 300ZX as raced by actor Paul Newman. He drove this in Trans-Am in 1988, but the Bob Sharp Racing-prepared car has pretty much nothing in common with the stock 300ZX, pushing out a whopping 680bhp from its heavily turbocharged six-cylinder engine.

Rounding out the pack is a classic ‘70s F1 car. At this time most F1 teams were using the legendary Cosworth DFV, but the Bernie Ecclestone-run Brabham team decided to go with a flat-12 Alfa Romeo unit. The BT45 first appeared in 1976, but it’s the 1977 ‘B’ version which is included here. Although it wasn’t quite good enough for any wins it did manage a few podiums, and John Watson even managed to put it on pole at Monaco.
