Alfa Romeo Is Recalling Hundreds Of Cars Over Faulty Brake Fluid

Alfa Romeo has recalled hundreds of new Giulias and Stelvios over a brake problem.

A car’s brakes do tend to need to work properly, but in a few cases here they potentially might not. Alfa has said that it accidentally filled the braking systems on the two models with ‘contaminated’ brake fluid that could eventually damage the brakes.

Alfa says the issue affects a small number of cars built between 14 and 23 November 2017. Owners of affected cars will be contacted directly by the company to start the recall process. Each car will need to be returned to a dealer where the brakes will be checked.

Any car found to have been filled with polluted brake fluid will reportedly be given a completely new brake system. If you own a Stelvio or Giulia built during that window, though, we’d recommend steering clear of any track days for the time being…
