10 Awesome Additions To The Car Throttle Garage In December

It’s the start of a new month, and indeed a new year. That means it’s time to comb through the Car Throttle Garage and gather up the most interesting new cars added by you, the CTzens. As usual, we’ve had to sort through a lot of awesome supercars, project cars and daily drivers. Here’s 10 that stand out above the rest!

CTzen Michael Zomaya has owned this beautiful blue Lancer Evolution IX for over 12 years. In that time, the menacing Mitsubishi has undergone quite a transformation. Although it’s been a long process, beautiful builds like this aren’t done in a weekend. It really wears that Subaru-ish blue with well-deserved confidence. We think that Michael’s long years of hard work have paid off big time!

The BMW E30 is widely considered by petrolheads to be one of the best all-around daily drivers ever made…as long as it’s in good working order. Although the number of E30s out there is getting fewer and fewer, CTzen Kevin1811 has given his 1990 3-Series a new lease of life. With a complete restoration, this old BMW looks better now than it did when it left its Bavarian birthplace. Just look at that luscious pearl blue paint…

Sticking to the theme of bumper-to-bumper restorations, here’s CTzen joshirk18’s 51-year-old Ford Mustang. This barn find wasn’t exactly farm-fresh, instead resembling something that you might shovel out of the stable. Instead of selling his old Mustang to the glue factory, joshirk18 decided to turn it into a prize pony. The 4.7-litre V8 engine can make this Mustang run with the wind, but the purple paint job makes it look just as good standing still.

Amon Oliver is a Hungarian who makes a living by going sideways in a car. Like many professionals, Amon drives a Mercedes-Benz C-Class. However, his is neither a company car or a taxi. In order to get the job done, he’s swapped the engine for a 6.0-litre boosted V12 with around 650bhp and, if you go by the metric system, over 1000 torques. There’s a lot more behind this custom build, but we think you get the picture. This could easily be the most badass W202 ever.

This particular Vauxhall Monaro, owned by CTzen BoyoKendall, is the high-performance VXR version. Apparently, Boyo wasn’t content with the factory-spec LS2 V8, so he’s upgraded it with a clever Overwatch-themed vinyl scheme and a liberal dose of performance parts. But he’s far from finished with it, as he plans on hooking up a supercharger to the 400bhp Corvette engine. This ought to give the ex-pat Aussie muscle car more hop than a pissed-off kangaroo.

The Nissan S-Chassis is a pretty popular candidate for Rocket Bunny conversions, and the 180SX owned by CTzen codyt.davis is no exception. He claims it’s a work in progress, but this Nissan is still a pretty solid build. Cody says that a paint job and a bigger turbo are in the works, and we can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s done!

CTzen Andrew Kerr owns one of the cleanest turbocharged SW20 MR2s that you’ll ever see. It’s pretty clear that a lot of work went into getting this Toyota into showroom shape. If you want to know what goes into loving an MR2, check out Andrew’s excellent and informative write-up about his experience with this lovely machine!

According to its owner, CTzen Becky Parker, this Subaru Impreza runs a compound twin-turbo setup. This means that the little Rexy has about as much boost as it has purple. Complete with a roll cage and sponsorship stickers, Becky has made clear this car’s intended purpose: to go really, really fast.

The Toyota Soarer was sold in the North American market as the left-hand-drive Lexus SC400. This might make it sound like an old man’s town coupe, but that certainly isn’t the case for CTzen Matthew Oswald’s project car. With a manual swap, performance exhaust and mods to the stock 1UZ V8, this Lexus is about as mean as it is seafoam green.

Finally, we have CTzen AlphaJDM’s 1991 Mazda MX-5 British Racing Green edition. This particular car is one I know well, as my very first proper sports car was a BRG Miata similar to this one! The BRG edition was created as a tribute to the classic British sports car that inspired the MX-5, and it’s safe to say today that the NA MX-5 is a proper classic in its own right.
