Classic and modern classic car values have gotten so preposterous, that the £130,000 lower estimate for this 1994 Lamborghini Diablo VT seems like a bit of a (relative) bargain. In fact, taking a look at some of the other, more used Diablos out there right now, we can’t help but think that’s a fairly conservative valuation.

It’s had only one owner from new, and has done just 8500 miles. Its gearbox was rebuilt by Lamborghini London in 2001, and having been originally collected from the factory by the owner and immediately registered in Italy, it’s recently been re-registered in the UK.

Being a VT, it’s all-wheel drive, with a 5.7-litre V12 supplying all four boots with 492bhp and 428lb ft of torque. Its 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds may be firmly in hot hatch territory these days, but who cares about performance stats when you have a V12 hooked up to a gated manual gearbox?

The car was up for auction in June 2016 when it failed to meet the reserve, and has only covered a handful of miles since. Given some of the mad auction results we’ve seen recently, we’re sure it won’t have any trouble getting to the required sum this time around.

It’ll go under the hammer via Historics at Brooklands on 25 November.
